On the way back from dropping my son, (working member of the geek community,)
at the ferry terminal the other day, I heard a great interview with one of our authors.
Vikram Chandra is a computer programmer and novelist. In his book
Geek Sublime: The Beauty of Code and the Code of Beauty, he looks at the
differences and similarities between writing code for computer programs
and the art of writing fiction and poetry. He explores topics such as logic gates
and literary modernism, the machismo of tech geeks, the omnipresence of an
“Indian Mafia” in Silicon Valley, and the writings of the eleventh-century
Kashmiri thinker Abhinavagupta. The book is a fascinating look at the intersection
of science and art. To hear the interview check out: Geek Sublime at CBC Radio
