This Tuesday I noticed the #DVpit hashtag trending on Twitter which was pretty exciting. Standing for Diverse Voices Pitch the hashtag had a ton of tweets from people pitching all kinds of amazing stories in 140 characters. What made it so great was that these pitches had to be from “Native peoples and people of color; people living and/or born/raised in underrepresented cultures and countries; disabled persons; people with illness; people on marginalized ends of the socioeconomic, cultural and/or religious spectrum; people identifying as LGBTQIA+; and more” according to the rules of the hashtag according to Beth Phelan the literary agent who started the hashtag.
Pretty great stuff was pitched and I even found a few that were inspired by some of our greatest books. Check them out!
