This past week my good friend and former colleague
Caroline Woodward was in town promoting her new book
Light Years: Memoir of a Modern Lighthouse Keeper
from Harbour Publishing. Caroline worked with us repping the north island and north
coast for seven years before taking the bold step of leaving a job she loved to join her
lightkeeper husband Jeff, at Lennard Island off the west coast of Vancouver Island.
Between weather reports, power-washing and tending gardens, Caroline found time to return to
her first love which is writing. In the last 7 years she has published several children’s books
an adult novel and now her memoir of life on the lights. For anyone who has
ever dreamed of making a new start in a completely different milieu this is a book to
inspire that first step. Or if you prefer armchair lightkeeping you can enjoy many
adventures from the comfort of home! Here is a photo of Caroline testing a local
Victoria beverage while taking a break from her promotion tour.
Cheers!
