I think I might be one of the last Canadians around who hasn’t read The Sisters Brothers,
by Patrick DeWitt. That thing sold in the hundreds of thousands! It’s on my pile for sure,
but it got bumped down the other week when I got an advance copy of his new book at
sales conference.
Undermajordomo Minor is the story of Lucien Minor, and his new job as an
Undermajordomo at Castle Von Aux. Lucy is a bit of a tool, honestly, and the whole
thing is full of ridiculous characters, ridiculous situations, and very deep holes.
It had the feel of a Wes Anderson movie, except I liked all the characters a lot.
Which maybe says something about me, but oh well.
